Assam CM asks for name suggestions on welcoming female giraffe

Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden known as Guwahati Zoo, welcomed a female giraffe calf on Sunday. On welcoming the calf, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his happiness and asked for name suggestions from the netizens. Assam CM through a post on ‘X’ said, “Happy to share that the Assam State Zoo has been blessed with a cute baby Giraffe just three days ago. Any suggestions for naming the new born?” sharing pictures of the baby calf. According to the sources, the calf’s roots are from Africa but by birth he is an Assamese.

Hen’s rectum was used to burst crackers, terrific death

A video of four boys from Assam's Nagaon district in Raha Gaon, were seen holding a hen with a firecracker inserted in the private part of the bird and bursting crackers which caused a terrified death of the innocent bird. The video came into notice after a NGO, People for Animals (PFA) posted on their social media handle, instagram handle tagging the Assam Police for immediate action against the boys. Class 10th, 12th boards to get merged and create ASSEB

The Assam Government hold Cabinet meeting on November 16 and during the meeting the decision was taken about merging class 10th and 12th boards in Assam. Currently, it is the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) for Class 10 and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) for Class 12, after the merger the board will be called the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). According to the sources, the decision to merge the boards and the council into one single entity has been made to develop, regulate and supervise the standards and quality of school education in Assam.

Assam Rifles Patrol team escapes attack in Manipur

Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast was triggered on targeting Assam Rifles vehicle in Manipur's Tengnoupal district on Thursday where Kuki and Meitei ethnic communities broke massive violence in the region. Police initiates probe on Atul Bora’s death threat
