Siliguri Vidhan Sabha Youth Congress Committee took to the streets to protest against the increasing rate of unemployment in the country. The Youth Congress Committee held a protest at Siliguri's Hashmi Chowk at 12 noon for 12 minutes today. During the protest, the Youth Congress activists also protested against the Modi government by banging on steel plates. Several activists were also spotted holding placards displaying the failures of the Centre.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today took stock of the progress of the solid waste management project being constructed at Lekai in Dibrugarh district today. It may be noted that the waste management project is being constructed under Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Programme involving a financial outlay of Rs. 75 crore.
