Govt school students to get 5% quota in engineering colleges

Assam Government has decided about reserving 5% seats in engineering colleges for the students who have pursued schooling from government schools in the state, Assam. According to the sources, the decision is taken to promote more enrollments in the state run schools especially for those students who have studied in government from class 7 to 12. APSC officers illegally involved in obtaining job, Assam

APSC Cash- for-job, 21 state civil, police and allied service officers has been suspended by Assam Government for illegally obtaining the reputed job of the state. HIV-Positive cases rise due to IDUs link

Assam finds grappling surge of HIV-positive cases in the state, rapidly over past three years specially among injecting drugs users. As per reports, from April to June 2023, a staggering 50.8% of the 1,317 cases detected linked to Injecting Drug Users (IDUs), exceeding the national average of 9.03% by a concerning 2.21 %. HS meritorious students rewarded scooters, Assam

Assam students who appeared for Higher Secondary Examination, 2023 and scored above 60% and 75% respectively have been rewarded scooters by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Veterinary College field in Khanapara, Guwahati on Thursday. According to the sources, the initiative took place under Pragyan Bharati Scheme, with 35,770 students being recipients of scooters under the scheme in 2023. Assam creates another Guinness World Records

The Assam government received nine Guinness World Records certificates for a mega plantation drive in September-October. As per sources, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received the certificates from Guinness World Records Adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar for the state’s ‘Amrit Brikshya Andolan’. Sarma said, “Amrit Brikshya Andolan has been successful only because of Jan Bhagidari.
