The Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday filed 19 FIRs in connection with the Hathras case. Prashant Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, law and order, claimed a pre-planned conspiracy to push the state into turmoil. An anti-corruption court on Monday charged former Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari in two graft cases, a week after he was indicted in a major money laundering case.Mr Zardari, 63, the co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and husband of the country's first woman prime minister Benazir Bhutto, was present in the Islamabad-based court and pleaded not guilty. India will extend a surcharge on taxes on luxury goods including cars and tobacco products beyond 2022, under plans to help states repay loans raised to meet revenue shortfalls in the current fiscal year, the finance minister said on Monday. On Saturday authorities in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras reopened the borders and said that they will allow media to enter the village where a 19-year-old woman was gang-raped, said the official.
