Failing to abduct, accuse tries to run over the victim, Assam

A youth from Assam, hailing from Guwahati tried to abduct a woman forcefully near the GS road area while she was back from her work. According to the sources, the accused with three other of his friends tried to abduct the woman forcefully but failed as people present in the area rescued her. Later, the accused with his four-wheelers tried to run over the victim and her friend, injuring both of them. Further, both the victims were rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). However, police have nabbed the accused one and are under investigation.

Assam police exposes 14 illegal money lenders, operation to continue

Darrang Police operated illegal money lending crack down various locations of the districts, under Dalgaon and Kharupetia police stations. SEBA for the first time to introduce OMR Sheet for HSLC exams, Assam

Assam's one of the biggest High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations has began from 16 February and the examination is set to conclude on March 16, 2024. Rs 200 cr allocated for floodwater diversion of Assam

Kaziranga National Park witnesses highest number of tourists, Assam

Assam's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve both national parks of Assam has witnessed highest number of tourist for 2023-24 seasons. According to the reports, during the month of October 2023, 17,662 people visited the park, November 2023, 40,242 tourists, December 2023, 65,000 people and January 2024, 52,000 tourists visited the national park.
