Assam collects Rs 3,816 cr from liquor outlets

Assam has collected Rs 3,816 crore revenue from liquor outlets in 2023-24. According to the sources, the Cabinet Ministry of Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya during the Assam Legislative assembly said that 3,003 liquor shops in Assam. As per the Ministry's details Rs. 12.5 crore liquor sold during Magh Bihu, Rs. 8.5 crore during New year eve, Rs. 6.8 crore Diwali and Rs. 22 crore Durga Puja for the year 2023.
