Assam Budget 2024, government to aims to eliminate child marriages

Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog presented Assam's 2024-25 financial year budget of 2.9 crore with a deficit of Rs 774.47 crore, on Monday. Assam reaches new milestone, one crore Ayushman Card

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has officially updated about 'Ayushman Cards' in the state, Assam. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme which provides assistance of 5 lakhs to families for health services. Sarma wrote on 'X', "Assam achieves a new milestone. Assam has taken sustained efforts to realise Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji's goal of Universal Health Coverage. Kaziranga National Park witnesses highest number of tourists, Assam

Assam's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve both national parks of Assam has witnessed highest number of tourist for 2023-24 seasons. According to the reports, during the month of October 2023, 17,662 people visited the park, November 2023, 40,242 tourists, December 2023, 65,000 people and January 2024, 52,000 tourists visited the national park. However, the parks collected Rs. 4.58 crore revenue due to the tourists visit.

Shiv Sena leader shoot to death, accuse kills himself

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot during a Facebook live session by Mauris Noronha, a business man on Thursday. As per the live video, after opening fire on Ghosalkar, Mauris shoot himself to death. Later, Ghosalkar was taken to nearby hospital. Following the incident, it is assumed that this comes after the Thane shooting incident, where BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire at Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde group functionary Mahesh Gaikwad inside a police station in Ulhasnagar.

Minor girl gets sexually assaulted, accused awarded 30 years jail

Assam man in Jorhat was sentenced to imprisonment for 30 years under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. According to the reports, the man is identified as Biki Gupta, the accused man sexually assaulted a minor girl in 2019. Earlier, the parents of the accused tired to offer 20,000 to settle down the case. However, the parents of the victim lodged an FIR on April 4, 2019 at the Jorhat Police Station against Gupta.

Gamosa gets unfurl under sea

A youth named Debojit Bhowmik, an aerospace engineer from Gauripur in Dhubri district, unfurls Assam's pride Gamosa under water in Karnataka. According to the sources, Bhowmik's aim to unfurl Gamosa under water was to promote snorkeling among the youths of Assam. Basically, snorkeling is a form of swimming that is performed under water like sea to experience under water environment. Bhowmik stated that he wanted to showcase the beauty and diversity of marine life to the people of his state, Assam and encourage them to try snorkelling.

According to the sources, Junmoni Rabha death case took place on 16 May, 2023 seven months ago and still the reason behind the death is unclear.
