IIT Bombay has accepted a donation of USD 18.6 million made by an alumnus. The amount was offered for the establishment of a Green Energy and Sustainability Research Hub. However, the identity of the alumuns has been keep secret as per his/her choice. The contribution will definitely help the institution to focus on the global climate crisis. The hub will be constructed within a state-of-the-art academic building on the the premises of the institute. The focus will be made on the critical areas such as evaluating climate risks,developing effective mitigation strategies, climate change adaptation, and comprehensive environmental monitoring.
