The oil marketing companies (OMC) hiked petrol and diesel prices on Tuesday across the country. Petrol price was increased by 23 paise per litre and diesel by 25 paise a litre, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers. RBI to transfer payout of Rs 99,122 crore to the government

The Reserve Bank of India has announced that it will transfer Rs 99,122 crore as surplus to the Centre for the nine months ended March 31, 2021. The central bank, which has followed a July-June accounting year, is transitioning to an April-March accounting year from this fiscal. The surplus is 73.5 per cent higher than the Rs 57,128 crore payout last year.
