Earthquake of 5.9 magnitude shakes J&K, tremors felts in Delhi and nearby areas

A 5.9 earthquake hit the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan sending tremors as far as Jammu and Kashmir and also in Delhi and nearby areas on Saturday morning.  The earthquake was recorded at around 9:46 am and was located at the depth of 210 kilometres beneath the earth surface. "That was a very strong earthquake. 7.3 on the Richter Scale, 189 KM WSW of Islamabad, Pakistan as per National Center for Seismology," tweeted Srinagar Mayor, Junaid Azim Matt. Reports that Omicron has symptoms alike  to that of  common cold, the WHO on Wednesday, warned  strictly that it is not a common cold and should not be taken casually. 4.1 magnitude earthquake shakes Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand

An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck Pithoragarh district midnight on Thursday but no damage has been reported. The earthquake occurred at 12.39 am had its epicentre at a depth of 10 km in Askot, District Disaster Management Officer Bhupendra Mahar said.  "No damage has been reported so far as the earthquake was of mild intensity," Mahar said. On Wednesday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 on the Richter Scale jolted Southeast of Portblair in the early hours. According to NCS, the tremors of the earthquake had a depth of 100 kilometres and occurred at around 5.31 am.
