As Assam has been a huge contribution in supplying tea world wide, with larger number of production within the countries and maximum number of workers. The Assam Government has banned madrassas and turned into general schools in Assam. AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has promised to go against the decision of the government. During an election campaign he said that he will move to the Supreme Court to grant reopening of the closed madrassas in Assam. Around 1,281 madrassas were converted to schools. He said, "UP government announced the closure of madrasas and later, the Supreme Court condemned them. With this reference, we will go to the Supreme Court and get the order from there."
