Atul Bora emphasizes on enhancing farmers’ income by double cropping project

Assam Agriculture minister Atul Bora has launched double cropping project at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat which will include 23 districts, covering 1,000 hectares of land across the state. Bora stressed the primary goal of the project is to boost farmers' income. Double cropping is to cultivate fallow lands after the kharif rice harvesting season which will enhance its productivity, cropping intensity and soil fertility also this will reduce labour migration.

Assam Police ready to implement new criminal laws in the state

Three new criminal laws to be implemented in Assam from July 1, 2024 which will emphasize on providing speedy justice rather than punishment. Assam flood: Death toll reaches 27 affected by flood

Continuous heavy rainfall in Assam has effected many villages in Assam due to rising of rain water within the state. A fresh report by Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), around 3,90,491 people were affected by the flood with rising death toll to 27.
