Assam Police ready to implement new criminal laws in the state

Three new criminal laws to be implemented in Assam from July 1, 2024 which will emphasize on providing speedy justice rather than punishment. The laws are the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. Assam DGP G.P. Singh said, "Around 200 officers of the state police force have already undergone training on criminal forensic science.
