Assam: Kaziranga just found a real-life Harry Potter snake

Assam's Kaziranga National park has recently found a snake named Salazar Slytherin. The is named as such after Harry Potter character. Harry Potter one of the most watched series novel by kids specially written by author JK Rowling. Assam: III & IV grade job aspirants selection test will be of three stages, Direct Recruitment exam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been planning on boosting jobs for the aspirants in the govt sectors. Earlier, Assam Government has already hold exams and recruited the job seekers. Recently, the Assam CM has updated about next job drive which is aiming to fill approximately 35,000 vacancies across the various departments including teaching sectors by April 2025. To be noted, aspirants seeking III and IV grade jobs through direct recruitment, selection test will be followed by three stages- Preliminary, Mains & Interview.

Assam CM inspect flood-effected areas at Dibrugarh city

Assam flood situation grims, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma takes a stock of the situation in Dibrugarh. Assam flood situation worsen, death toll raises to 45

Assam is grilling under flood due to continuous rainfall in the region. Atleast eight rivers are flowing above the danger mark including Brahmaputra river at the highest peak. The bulletin board says, Assam flood has affected the region over 6.44 lakh people in 19 districts. Rescue teams are deployed in all the regions including the NDRF, SDRF, army, air force and local administration. Meanwhile, the death toll affected by flood has increased this year to 45 while one person is missing. Further, the rescued ones are taken to the relief camp.

Atul Bora emphasizes on enhancing farmers’ income by double cropping project

Assam Agriculture minister Atul Bora has launched double cropping project at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat which will include 23 districts, covering 1,000 hectares of land across the state. Bora stressed the primary goal of the project is to boost farmers' income. Double cropping is to cultivate fallow lands after the kharif rice harvesting season which will enhance its productivity, cropping intensity and soil fertility also this will reduce labour migration.
