Alipurduar, Sep 16: Jaldapara National Park reopened for tourists today after remaining closed for three months.Visitors will once again be welcomed to the forest from Monday, marking the return of popular activities such as vehicle safaris and elephant safaris.After the park opened, a large number of tourists gathered in the park to enjoy the safari. Forest workers welcomed the visitors at the Jaldapara gate.It is noteworthy that the number of elephants available for Jaldapara elephant safari has increased this season. Elephant safari has also resumed from Hollong and Salkumar gates within the park.

Alipurduar, May 11: Alipurduar University Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Rathin Banerjee met with a serious accident during his visit to Siliguri on Saturday afternoon.Reports suggest that Vice Chancellor Rathin Banerjee was going from Alipurduar to Siliguri by road when his car collided with a truck in Bagribari area of Guabar Nagar gram panchayat of Falakata block. During this time the car overturned several times due to the collision. VC suffered a lot of injuries due to this.Upon receiving the news, officials from Falakata police station immediately reached the location and Rathin Banerjee was shifted to a private hospital in Siliguri.…
