Expressing hope over the reduced number of the daily death toll in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said plasma therapy will be helpful until Corona vaccine is developed. Inaugurating the first plasma bank, the CM deliberated on the modalities of donating or receiving plasma. The bank is being set up at the Delhi government-run Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) and doctors or hospitals will have to approach it if plasma is required for treatment of a COVID-19 patient. Indian Railways achieves 100% punctuality for first time in history

Indian Railways has said for the first time in the history of the Railways, all trains achieved 100% punctuality on July 1. No trains were delayed among the 201 that run on this day, said the Indian Railways. curfew between 9 pm to 5 am imposed in Mumbai

Mumbai police on Wednesday imposed section 144 of CrPC in the city, prohibiting movement of people in public places and gatherings, to prevent spread of COVID-19, an official said. The prohibitory order, issued by a senior police official, says restrictions on movement of residents for non-essential work will remain in force till July 15. The order prohibits "presence or movement of one or more persons in public places or gathering of any sort", the official said.

India records 507 deaths in single day

India registered the highest single-day COVID-19 deaths at 507 on Wednesday with Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu accounting for over 70 per cent of the fatalities, while 18,653 new infections were reported taking the total tally to 5,85,493, according to the Union Health Ministry data. In a horrifying incident, a 43-year-old man allegedly murdered his 40-year-old wife by stabbing her multiple times with scissors at their residence in New Ashok Nagar locality of Punjab’s Ludhiana.
