Indian Govt to launches facility to file GST via SMS for 2.2 million firms

The government on Monday launched an easy Goods and Services Tax (GST) return filing facility through short message service (SMS) for about 2.2 million registered businesses provided the value of the return is nil. “In a major move towards taxpayer facilitation, the government has today onwards allowed filing of NIL GST monthly return in FORM GSTR-3B through SMS,” a finance ministry spokesperson said. Covid-19: Health ministry asks states to for Districts Level Plans.

To ensure maximum containment of coronavirus during the lockdown period, the Union health ministry has asked states to classify districts into hotspots, non-hotspots and green zones.The Centre has declared 170 hotspots --- 123 hotspot districts with large outbreaks and 47 hotspot districts with clusters --- in 25 states and Union territories. Five militants killed in encounter with security forces in Shopian.

There has been an increase in anti-militancy operations in the Valley since April. Three unidentified militants were on Sunday killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
