Manipur’s all-women run markets reopen after 11 months

After almost 11 months, Ima markets (all women run markets) in the heart of Manipur’s capital city reopened on Monday for resumption of normal business activities. The three multi-storey market-sheds remained closed following an order of the state government on March 21 last year. The closure of the markets was related to precautionary measures being taken up by the state government to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state. Meghalaya budget session from Mar 5

The budget session of Meghalaya Assembly will commence from March 5. The session is likely to be a stormy one as the opposition Congress party is expected to raise the illegal mining and transportation of coal, besides price rise and corruption. Medziphema: Second dose of vaccination began at Community Health Center (CHC), Medziphema on February 15, where SMO Dr. Nosezol Sezo and 27 beneficiaries received the first vaccine shots on January 18 were administered for the second dose. Army helps douse major forest fire along China border in Arunachal

Army troops successfully doused a major forest fire in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dibang Valley district along the China border, officials said on Sunday. Defence spokesman Lt Col P. Khongsai said that troops of the Spear Corps extended immediate and critical help to the civil administration in dousing the major forest fire near Anini in Dibang Valley. “The forest fire broke out at Koylabasti and Anini on Thursday night and soon engulfed the surrounding mountain ridges.
