US govt orders up to 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccines

The US government has ordered Pfizer Inc and German biotech firm BioNTech SE to to produce and deliver 100 million doses of their COVID-19 vaccine candidate for $1.95 billion. Pfizer will deliver the doses if the covid vaccine receives emergency use authorization or licensure from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, after completing demonstration of safety and efficacy in a large Phase 3 clinical trial. The vaccine being developed by Pfizer and BioNTech has shown promise in early-stage small studies in humans.

The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state is 68.68 per cent, the bulletin added. Ride-hailing giant Uber on Wednesday that it will install safety screens or safety cockpits in 20,000 Premier sedans for the safety of riders and the drivers. As per Uber, the safety cockpits are protective ceiling-to-floor transparent plastic screen, which is installed between the passenger and the driver.
