Bajaj General Insurance Limited, formerly Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited, has launched ProShield, a packaged motor insurance solution for defence personnel, along with the enhanced VPAY 2.0, its next-generation motor insurance offering aimed at connected vehicles and evolving mobility risks. ProShield addresses the distinctive requirements of military life, including frequent relocations and vehicle movement between postings. The product provides vehicle relocation protection, including policy extensions for vehicles transported through licensed carriers, eligible No Claim Bonus protection, travel emergency cover for missed flights and hotel expenses following vehicle accidents, and assistance for replacing lost driving licences and registration certificates for the insured and spouse.
It also offers priority claims assistance and access to more than 7,300 garages, along with zero depreciation with unlimited claims, waiver of deductible, roadside assistance, tyre and rim cover, rodent damage, towing, geographical extension, rally and accessories cover. VPAY 2.0 consolidates multiple protections under one motor insurance solution across Prime, Classic and Elite variants. Its features include cyber incident and theft-of-funds protection, fuel adulteration cover, mechanical and electrical breakdown protection, Smart Repair, ADAS recalibration, smart-system restoration and coverage for electric and hybrid vehicles, including traction battery replacement benefits.
Dr Tapan Singhel, MD & CEO, Bajaj General Insurance, said the two offerings reflect the changing nature of mobility and customer requirements. The company said the products aim to move motor insurance beyond conventional accident protection.
