Axis Bank, Cognizant go live with automation-led AMS 2.0 initiative

Axis Bank and Cognizant have announced the successful implementation and go-live of Cognizant’s Application Management Services (AMS) under the bank’s AMS 2.0 initiative, aimed at strengthening application support, operational consistency and automation.

The jointly driven programme focuses on delivery governance, standardised processes and automation-led operations to improve service reliability, cost efficiency, productivity and scalability, while maintaining emphasis on governance, compliance and operational discipline.

Spearheaded by Axis Bank, AMS 2.0 is part of its broader technology transformation programme to build a scalable and resilient IT operating model and improve system reliability and stakeholder experience. Under a five-year agreement, Cognizant will support applications across Branch and Operations, Cards, Corporate Banking and Treasury, Core Platforms and Payments, Finance and Accounting, Retail and Wholesale Banking, and Data Platforms and Integration.

Avinash Raghavendra, Group Head – Information Technology & Retail Operations, Axis Bank, said the initiative is aimed at building a more resilient, scalable and automation-enabled operations model, while Cognizant will support the bank’s evolving technology needs.

Ganesh Ayyar, President – Asia Pacific & Japan, Cognizant, said the companies are focused on disciplined service delivery, governance-led operations and responsible automation to improve stability and efficiency.

In Kolkata, the collaboration is relevant as banks and financial institutions in the region continue to expand digital banking infrastructure and require reliable application management across payments, retail banking and corporate services.
