India marks1.34 lakh new Covid cases, 2,887 deaths in last 24 hours, lowest in 35 days

India reported 1,34,154 fresh Covid-19 infections in 24 hours, taking the case to 28,440,988, as per Health Ministry data. Fresh COVID cases continued to fall as it has been seven days since cases have not reached the 200,000-mark.   For the straight 44th consecutive day over 2,000 daily Covid deaths have been reported from the country. With 2,887 new records, the death record is now at 3,37,989, according to Health Ministry. It continues to stand in the second of worst hit nation. The team had gone to spread awareness about coronavirus vaccine among tribals, but had to face a tough time. According to Palghar police, a team of doctors and health workers were brutally assaulted at Ganje-Jayshet village when they reached there to conduct Rapid Antigen Tests. Police PRO Sachin Navadkar said that the incident took place on Monday when a team of five personnel from Durvesh primary health centre went to Ganje village for a COVID-19 awareness programme.
