India logs 48,786 new COVID-19 cases, recovery rate at 96.97%

India on Thursday recorded 48,786 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Active cases are now below 8 lakh mark at 5,23,257. Amul has hiked milk prices by Rs 2 per litre with effect from July 1 across all brands, a senior Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) official said on Wednesday. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter that ensued between militants and security forces in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.
