52 killed in Russian mine accident

A total of 52 people, including six rescuers, were killed after smoke occurred in a coal mine in Russia’s Kemerovo Region. It was the most deadly mine accident in five years in the country. According to preliminary data, there were no survivors in the Listvyazhnaya mine, TASS reported, adding that most of the bodies remain underground and will be raised to surface when temperature and methane concentration allow. Delhi records 30 cases of Covid-19

Delhi recorded 30 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 55,930 tests conducted for the purpose, according to the Delhi government’s latest health bulletin. Strong earthquake of 6.1 magnitude hits India-Myanmar border; tremors felt in Kolkata, Guwahati

A shallow and strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was felt in India-Myanmar border. The quake was reported at 5.15 am with its epicentre at a depth of 73 km southeast of Thenzawl, Mizoram, according to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS). The tremors were felt as far away as in West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam in eastern India. The depth of the quake was 12 km. So far, no reports of any damage have surfaced.

Strong earthquake of 6.3 magnitude tremorises Bangladesh

A shallow and strong earthquake of magnitude 6.3 was felt in Bangladesh today early morning which was reported at 5.15 am with its epicentre at a depth of 175 km east of Chittagong, Bangladesh (Myanmar-India border region), according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
