World’s largest river cruise to start its service from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh. As per Government, it is to get started by next month.The service will be launched to enhance the development of inland waterways in India. Assam got a 5,000-tonne capacity cold storage unit. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the project. The area is situated in Chaygaon area along with a fruit-processing centre at the food-processing park at Satabari under Kamrup district. Both the projects were inaugurated by the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. According to sources, the 5,000-metric-tonne cold-storage facility has been constructed by the Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board at a cost of Rs 24.75 crore. Also, the fruit-processing unit has been built at a cost of Rs 2.89 crore.

A 13-year-old girl was raped by six minor boys in the Karimganj district of Assam. Police said that all the boys had been arrested so far. According to sources, the boys were 13-15 years old. As the girl was alone at home, they allegedly forced their way into the house and raped her. Later, the boys took video of the incident and assaulted her. The girl was scared to tell her family about the incident. She informed and complaint filed was registered in the Police station.
