An accident takes life of a student from Dibrugarh University, Assam, occurred at Jamugurighat in Sonitpur district. The deceased is identified as Luku Sharma, a student from Dibrugarh University, Assam. According to the reports, the accident took place when a Maruti Suzuki Swift car, traveling at high speed, collided with a dumper truck from behind. As a result, Luku Sharma lost his life. AOD implements new initiative for PMUY beneficiaries

 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has become a challenge for Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries of Assam.  The beneficiaries are not able to afford the cylinders as they are large and costs’ high. Instead of large cylinders, IOCL has decided to provide two 5 kg LPG cylinders as a refill package to the PMUY beneficiaries in Assam. Assam Oil Division (AOD) shared updates of the taken initiative that about 25% of beneficiaries have not applied for refills due to various reasons.
