The earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 was detected at a depth of 5 km in West Garo Hills district at 2:27 pm, the official at the Regional Seismological Centre here said. Activists detained from holding protest against CAA in Assam

Amidst the escalating tension in the state over the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the state police have detained activists opposing the act. As per sources, the Office of the commissioner of Police has issued notice on holding any protest against the act, strict security measures have been heightened accross the state, Assam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives here, Assam on Saturday and unveils statue of 16th century Ahom general Lachit Borphukan in Jorhat district. A disease with jaundice symptoms affects 60 people

A mysterious incident has unfolded which triggered people of the state. The incident unfolded in Assam's Goalpara district killing 14 people. According to the sources, a disease unfolded within the villages of the district killing 14 people, in which 60 people were affected. Six of them are affected and are under treatment. In Siliguri two arrested with a firearm and live ammunition
