Rabindra Nath Tagore Heart Institute (RTIICS) has marked a significant milestone in cardiac care by successfully implanting two dual-chamber leadless pacemakers on the same day, on October 8. The procedures, performed by Dr. Debdatta Bhattacharyya and his team, employed the latest AVEIR technology, positioning the institute as the first centre in Eastern India to offer such advanced cardiac rhythm management. Unlike traditional pacemakers that require wires and chest incisions, the AVEIR system is entirely wireless and minimally invasive.
