Assam Royal Global University Inks Pact With Sashastra Seema Bal In Delhi

In a significant step towards strengthening its commitment to nation-building through education, The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) on Monday signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Director General Headquarters in New Delhi.
The agreement was formally signed by Somit Joshi, Inspector General (Administration), on behalf of SSB, and Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Singh, Registrar (Administration), on behalf of RGU.
The signing ceremony was attended by Rajesh Tikku, Deputy Inspector General (Administration), Commandant Shankar Singh, Deputy Commandant Sunil Kumar, and other senior officials of SSB.
Speaking on the occasion, Somit Joshi described the collaboration as a meaningful initiative aimed at extending educational opportunities to the families of SSB personnel.
He stated that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the aspirations of serving and retired personnel and their dependents through access to quality higher education.
Expressing his pride at the collaboration, Dr. D. N. Singh said, “It is a matter of immense honour and privilege for our university to enter into this first-of-its-kind MoU with the Sashastra Seema Bal. Through this partnership, we seek to recognize and support the invaluable contributions of our defence personnel by ensuring that their families have access to quality higher education opportunities.”
Under the MoU, RGU will introduce two dedicated scholarship categories—Royal Shaurya and Royal Suraksha—for the dependents and wards of defence personnel, including serving personnel, ex-servicemen, personnel with disabilities, and those who have died in harness.
The University will offer the Royal Shaurya Scholarship, providing 100 percent tuition fee waiver to the families of martyrs and gallantry awardees, while the Royal Suraksha Scholarship will provide 50 percent tuition fee concession to the wards of serving and retired defence personnel.
As part of the agreement, SSB will facilitate the dissemination of information regarding the scholarship schemes across its units, schools, and institutions, and assist in identifying and forwarding eligible candidates for admission.
