Assam Regimental Centre Celebrates Induction of 726 Agniveers

The Assam Regimental Centre held attestation & Passing out Parade of 726 Agniveers. The Parade was reviewed by Governor of Uttarakhand Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) in the presence of General Officer Commanding, 101 Area, Lieutenant General Mohit Wadhwa, Sena Medal. The scintillating ceremony marked the completion of training of Agniveers who will thereafter be serving as part of Assam Regiment and Arunachal Scouts at various locations of the Country. Foreign Dignitaries, Senior Offrs of countries of Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Seychelles and Sri Lanka were also present for the scintillating mil parade.

The Governor of Uttarakhand Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) recounted the contribution of the Northeast and that of Assam Regiment as part of Indian Army towards nation building. He Northeast on the core military values of duty, sacrifice, discipline, patriotism and congratulated the young soldiers on successful completion of their rigorous training. The attestation and passing out parade was attended by more than 3000 proud parents and relatives of Agniveers. The proud parents were bestowed with ‘Gaurav Padak’ as mark of gratitude by the Indian Army.
