Yamaha revamps India portfolio with XSR155, first EVs and youth-focused FZ-RAVE

India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt. Ltd. unveiled its all-new XSR155, marking the entry of its globally acclaimed modern retro sport brand in India, alongside its first electric vehicles — the AEROX-E and EC-06 — and the youth-centric FZ-RAVE. The XSR155, priced at Rs. 1,49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi), blends classic styling with advanced engineering, featuring a 155cc VVA engine, dual-channel ABS, traction control, and four colour options.

The AEROX-E high-performance EV and EC-06 interurban scooter represent Yamaha’s strategic entry into India’s electric mobility space, offering ranges of 106 km and 160 km respectively. Both models integrate smart technology, ergonomic design, and sustainable powertrains aimed at environmentally conscious urban riders. Meanwhile, the FZ-RAVE, priced at Rs. 1,17,218, caters to young riders with aggressive styling, a 149cc engine, fuel efficiency, and enhanced safety features.

In Kolkata, Yamaha dealers report strong interest in both the XSR155 and FZ-RAVE, reflecting the city’s appetite for stylish, performance-oriented motorcycles among young professionals and enthusiasts. The introduction of EV models is also expected to resonate with urban commuters seeking sustainable alternatives for city mobility. Commenting on the launches, Mr. Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said, “These models strengthen our presence in India’s evolving mobility landscape, combining performance, design, and sustainability for diverse riders.”
