India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has announced a design upgrade to its Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooter, aiming to strengthen its appeal among young, style-conscious urban riders. The updated model features a refreshed rear design with a trimmed length, giving it a more compact and contemporary silhouette while improving manoeuvrability in city conditions. The redesign focuses on a sculpted tail section with new taillights, flashers, and Yamaha’s signature V-shaped taillight, offering a premium and balanced rear profile. Developed by Yamaha’s India-based R&D team, the enhancements, including new decals, are based on customer feedback and reflect a design-led, customer-centric approach.
Chairman Hajime Aota said the upgrade aligns with evolving youth preferences and positions the Fascino as a “trendsetting, unisex mobility solution.” He highlighted the model’s milestone of crossing 1.5 million units in production as a reflection of customer trust and sustained demand. Since its launch in 2015 as a 110cc scooter, the Fascino has evolved into a 125cc hybrid model with features such as Smart Motor Generator (SMG), Stop & Start System, Enhanced Power Assist, and a Colour TFT cluster with navigation in the premium variant. Powered by a Blue Core Hybrid engine, it also offers features like telescopic suspension, 21-litre storage, and E20 fuel compatibility.
The scooter is priced from ₹76,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available across Yamaha dealerships, including Blue Square outlets. In Kolkata, where daily commuting demands fuel efficiency and easy handling, the refreshed Fascino is expected to attract urban youth and working professionals. Dealers indicate rising interest in hybrid scooters amid increasing fuel prices, and Yamaha’s updated design and connectivity features could strengthen its position in the city’s competitive two-wheeler market.
