Yamaha launches XSR155 in ‘Metallic Black’ at Rs 1.58 lakh, expands modern retro line-up

India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM) on Monday launched the XSR155 in a new ‘Metallic Black’ shade at an ex-showroom price of ₹1,58,990 in Delhi, expanding its colour portfolio for the modern retro sport motorcycle. The new variant features golden upside-down (USD) front forks and a deeper black finish aimed at enhancing the bike’s premium and aggressive road presence. The company said the colour addition responds to growing customer demand for a black edition, strengthening the XSR155’s muscular tank design, minimalist bodywork and retro-inspired styling cues.

Hajime Aota, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said the strong response to the XSR155 since its debut reflects the resonance of Yamaha’s “Modern Retro Sport” philosophy. He said the Metallic Black edition underlines Yamaha’s focus on individuality, performance and styling. Powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), the motorcycle delivers 13.5 kW and 14.2 Nm. Built on Yamaha’s Deltabox frame, it gets an aluminium swing arm, USD forks, monocross rear suspension, 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS and traction control.

In Kolkata, dealers said demand for premium 150cc motorcycles has been rising, particularly among young urban riders seeking distinctive styling and performance, positioning the XSR155 as a strong contender in the city’s growing lifestyle motorcycle segment. The XSR155, launched in November last year, has emerged as a preferred choice among enthusiasts seeking a blend of retro design and sporty performance.
