India Yamaha Motor has announced a special anniversary price benefit of ₹5,000 on its flagship R15 series as part of Yamaha Motor’s 70th Anniversary celebrations. The revised pricing, effective from January 5, brings the starting ex-showroom Delhi price of the Yamaha R15 series to ₹1,50,700. The announcement reinforces Yamaha’s strategy of expanding access to its premium performance motorcycle lineup among young Indian riders.
The R15 has played a key role in shaping India’s entry-level performance motorcycle segment, with over one million units produced domestically. Known for its race-inspired design and everyday usability, the model continues to appeal strongly to sport-riding enthusiasts. The series is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine paired with Yamaha’s DiASil cylinder technology and Deltabox frame. Features include Traction Control System, Assist and Slipper Clutch, Upside-Down Front Forks, Linked-Type Monocross Suspension, and Quick Shifter in select variants.
From a Kolkata market perspective, dealers noted that the R15 series enjoys strong demand among college-goers and young professionals seeking premium styling and performance. With the new price benefit, industry observers expect sentiments in the premium commuter-sports segment to improve further, particularly among aspirational first-time buyers in the city. Under the new pricing, the Yamaha R15 S is listed at ₹1,50,700, the R15 V4 at ₹1,66,200, and the R15 M at ₹1,81,100 (ex-showroom). Yamaha said the move underlines its commitment to strengthening its connect with India’s growing performance-motorcycling community.
