Wipro Secures Landmark $1 Billion Transformation Deal with Olam Group; Acquires Mindsprint for $375 Million

Olam Group’s global operations undergo a comprehensive digital overhaul at the center of the partnership. As a key component of this agreement, Wipro will acquire Mindsprint, Olam’s in-house IT and digital services business, for $375 million in an all-cash transaction. Headquartered in Singapore, Mindsprint brings a specialized workforce of over 3,200 professionals and a deep portfolio of proprietary “farm-to-fork” technology solutions.

Wipro CEO Srini Pallia highlighted that this engagement is a pivotal step in scaling “Wipro Intelligence”—the company’s suite of AI-powered platforms—across the agricultural sector. By integrating Mindsprint’s domain expertise, Wipro aims to modernize Olam’s vast supply chain, which currently serves 22,000 customers across more than 60 countries.

For Olam Group, which is majority-owned by Temasek Holdings, the move aligns with its 2025 Reorganization Plan. CEO Sunny Verghese stated that the divestment allows Olam to monetize its IT assets while leveraging Wipro’s global scale to build a more resilient and future-ready organization. Net proceeds from the sale are expected to be distributed to Olam shareholders via special dividends.

The acquisition of Mindsprint is expected to close by June 30, 2026, pending regulatory approvals in key markets, including Australia and Saudi Arabia. Once finalized, Mindsprint will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Wipro, continuing under the leadership of its current CEO, Suresh Sundararajan.

Market analysts view this “captive-to-vendor” transition as a strategic masterstroke for Wipro, securing long-term revenue visibility at a time when discretionary tech spending has seen a global slowdown. For the tech major, it is a billion-dollar bet on the future of AI in the global food supply chain.
