Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya participated in a health camp in Guwahati, organized by Lok Bhavan in collaboration with the National Health Mission (NHM), Assam, as part of a public outreach initiative titled Sewa Sankalp Saptah. The camp aimed to provide accessible and inclusive healthcare services. During his visit, Governor Acharya noted the variety of health services offered and emphasized compassionate governance by distributing wheelchairs to individuals with disabilities and Nikshay Mitra kits to caregivers of tuberculosis patients. He announced a one-time grant to Jahajghat LP School for infrastructure improvements. The Governor stressed that serving humanity reflects national duty and social responsibility, aligning with India’s ethos of collective welfare. He highlighted the ongoing transformative changes in healthcare delivery under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, which focuses on accessibility and community participation. Advocating for holistic well-being, Acharya encouraged preventive healthcare practices among citizens and urged youth involvement in health awareness and community service as crucial in fostering a healthier society. He acknowledged the efforts of NHM staff, ASHA workers, and volunteers, expressing confidence that such initiatives would enhance grassroots healthcare systems and strengthen public trust, benefiting the vision of a healthier and empowered Assam. The camp served a total of 216 beneficiaries.
