On Friday afternoon, a fake doctor was arrested from a private chamber near Kalyani station in Nadia for allegedly posing as a professor at SSKM Hospital. Albert Russell Faruki, a resident of Kalyani, has worked as consultant gastroenterology there for the past ten years.
“Following information from the West Bengal Doctors’ Forum, we have arrested the accused who was allegedly practicing medicine without an MBBS degree,” a police officer said. He didn’t have a doctor’s registration number. The fraudulent doctor and his collaborators will face legal consequences.”
According to sources, Faruki’s prescription raised concerns among some physicians, who wrote a letter to the West Bengal Medical Council’s registrar, Manas Chakraborty, on July 15 this year. He had phony documents in his possession, according to cops.
