Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) India marked a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainability ambitions with the biggest showcase of electric machines in India at Excon 2023, South Asia’s largest Construction Equipment event. The company showcased a comprehensive range of electric and other machines alongside innovative service solutions, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to empowering customers and providing them with the tools necessary to achieve their productivity and sustainability goals.
Volvo CE is promoting sustainable operations in mining, material handling, steel, cement, and urban infrastructure sectors. The company has launched India’s first grid-connected electric excavator, EC500 Electric, and the L120 Electric Wheel Loader, offering zero-emission mining and construction machinery. The EC80 Electric, an addition to the EC55 electric, is a near-production prototype for urban construction and forestry, offering superior performance and 6-8 hours of autonomy due to its larger battery.
India-developed electric compactors, DD40 and PT220, showcased as technology concepts, offering energy cost reductions of up to 50% and cleaner construction operations in environmentally sensitive areas, demonstrating Volvo CE’s commitment to sustainable local solutions. Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director of Volvo CE India said, “Our excavators, haulers, wheel loaders, and other equipment cater to a diverse range of sectors, including construction, mining, infrastructure development, and material handling.”
