Voluntary recall of 125cc Hybrid scooter models by Yamaha

India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. has announced a voluntary recall of 3,06,635 units of its 125cc hybrid scooter models to address a potential front brake-related issue, underscoring the company’s focus on customer safety. The recall covers scooters manufactured between May 2, 2024, and September 3, 2025, and is effective immediately.

According to India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., the recall has been initiated after it was identified that, under certain operating conditions, the front brake caliper may exhibit limited function in select units. The issue affects the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid models. Yamaha clarified that the required replacement of the specific part will be carried out free of cost at authorised Yamaha dealerships. Customers can check whether their vehicle is covered under the recall by visiting the Service section of the Yamaha Motor India website and entering the scooter’s chassis number under the ‘Voluntary Recall Campaign’ option. Alternatively, customers may contact Yamaha through its toll-free helpline 1800-420-1600 or via email for assistance.

In Kolkata, Yamaha scooters enjoy strong acceptance among urban commuters, particularly for their fuel efficiency and hybrid technology. Dealership sources in Kolkata indicated that service centres are prepared to handle the recall smoothly, with adequate spare parts and appointment slots, and expect minimal disruption to customer confidence in the brand.
