Vodafone Idea has teamed up with Nokia to deploy the NetGuard Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system. This initiative aims to protect Vodafone Idea’s consumer and enterprise subscribers across India from escalating cyber threats and security vulnerabilities. NetGuard EDR, a cutting-edge threat detection suite, will be integrated into Vodafone Idea’s core network. This system offers real-time, automated monitoring, enabling swift detection and mitigation of endpoint-related security incidents. By minimizing security gaps, reducing the need for extensive testing, and optimizing operational costs, NetGuard EDR ensures continuous service availability and performance across the entire Operational Technology (OT) network.
Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone Idea, expressed the company’s commitment to advancing network security. “Vodafone Idea is fully committed to driving the next phase of network evolution, ensuring that our advanced solutions deliver both unmatched connectivity and security. As we embrace this journey with Nokia, we are focused on building networks that are resilient and capable of supporting the ever-growing demands, including heightened security risks, of digital transformation,” Singh stated.
The implementation of NetGuard EDR is expected to significantly enhance the security and reliability of telecom services. This is particularly crucial for the region’s expanding business sector, where secure and stable network connectivity is essential. The enhanced security measures will not only protect local enterprises from cyber threats but also foster a more robust digital infrastructure .
