Vodafone Idea, a leading IoT operator, is partnering with C-DOT to establish a unique IoT Lab in India. The lab aims to promote standardization and interoperability in the IoT ecosystem, aligning with the government’s mission to accelerate IoT adoption.
Since Dec’22, the IoT lab has tested over 50 devices across various industries, promoting the adoption of oneM2M standards as the national standard for IoT solution design by BIS. The lab tests and certifies compatibility with these standards, ensuring network performance and solution interoperability, thereby promoting the proliferation of IoT solutions.
Vi Business’s Lab-as-a-Service initiative, Vi C-DOT IoT Lab, can test 175 scenarios across industries like AMI, Connected Car, POS, and VTS. It collaborates with component designers to ensure seamless IoT experiences. Currently, 5 devices have been certified as “network ready” by the lab, and it is also testing 5G and NBIOT devices. Dr Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT said “I am confident that this collaborative initiative of C-DOT and Vi along with the Centre of Innovation (COI) for IoT/M2M by C-DOT would be extremely beneficial for the Indian industry, especially start-ups in their endeavor to manufacture and deploy indigenous standards compliant devices and applications”.
