Veeam Software convened government officials, academia and industry leaders at the Bharat Cyber Suraksha – North-East Cyber Resilience & AI Transformation Summit in Guwahati, aiming to strengthen cyber resilience and AI readiness across the region.
At the event, the company released the “Bharat Cyber Suraksha – North-East Cyber Resilience & Digital Readiness Report 2025,” developed with the Northeast India Public Policy Forum. The report outlines measures to protect citizen data, enhance cloud infrastructure, and comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and CERT-In norms. The company cited Ministry of Home Affairs data showing over 47,000 cyber incidents reported across the eight North-Eastern states, underlining the urgency for stronger safeguards.
Veeam also exchanged Memorandums of Intent with Assam Science and Technology University, Assam Don Bosco University and Assam Down Town University to establish Cyber Resilience Centres of Excellence and introduce industry-aligned AI and cybersecurity courses. The “Main Hoon Saksham” awareness drive was launched with Women in Cloud and NxtGen to expand skilling initiatives.
The summit positions Guwahati as a rising technology and talent hub. With increasing digital adoption among enterprises and public institutions, demand for cyber-ready professionals and AI-driven security solutions is expected to grow in Guwahati, opening new opportunities for startups, IT firms and training institutions in the city.
