V-Guard Industries Limited has achieved a major milestone in the home appliances segment with its in-house manufactured induction cooktop model VIC06V1 becoming the first in India to receive a 5-star energy efficiency rating from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
The recognition highlights V-Guard’s focus on indigenous design, energy-efficient innovation and manufacturing excellence. The VIC06V1 is designed and manufactured at the company’s Perundurai facility and has been engineered to deliver faster, cleaner and environment-friendly cooking while helping users reduce electricity consumption without compromising performance. The cooktop offers a maximum power output of 1600 W, eight power and temperature levels, and eight preset cooking modes. It also features soft-touch controls, a digital display, a 4-hour timer, 24-hour preset function, and energy and voltage indicators. Safety features include 3 kV surge protection, high–low voltage cut-off and BIS certification. The model comes with a one-year product warranty and a three-year warranty on the induction coil.
Commenting on the achievement, Mithun Chittilappilly said the milestone reflects the company’s strong emphasis on quality standards and energy-efficient innovation. In Kolkata, the launch is expected to gain strong traction as urban households increasingly shift towards energy-saving kitchen appliances. With rising electricity awareness and compact living spaces, demand for efficient induction cooktops is steadily growing in Kolkata, positioning V-Guard’s 5-star rated model as a timely and competitive offering in the eastern India market.
