Union Minister plans to launch future-ready skills programs for 4 lakh Kerala youth over the next three years

Kerala has launched the Future Ready, Job Ready Skills program under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) to expedite skill development and equip India’s youth with relevant and advanced skills, ensuring India’s talent is equipped with the latest technology. Aligned with the visionary goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, set forth by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, this initiative marks a significant step towards innovation and future preparedness.

At the core of this initiative lies PMKVY 4.0, a groundbreaking program set to impart futuristic skills to approximately 4 lakh young individuals over the next three years. The initiative aims to equip youth with advanced skills in fields like Additive Manufacturing, 3D printing, AI, drone manufacturing, and electric vehicle service technician through skill training courses offered through colleges, universities, schools, ITIs, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras, Jan ShikshanSansthans, and other institutes.

Speaking during the inauguration, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble Minister of State, Electronics & IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jal Shakti, Government of India, said, “Knowledge is power, but what is even more powerful is knowledge with skills. Adding to that he said “To skill each and every youth of Kerala is our guarantee to all”.
