Union Home Minister Amit Shah opens the biggest auditorium in the Northeast in Guwahati

Union Home Minister Amit Shah opened the Jyoti-Bishnu Antarjatik Kala Mandir in Guwahati, the largest auditorium in the Northeast. This was a significant development for Assam’s civic and cultural infrastructure. The auditorium complex, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 291 crore and spans 45 bighas, or roughly 14.85 acres, in the city’s Khanapara neighborhood, can accommodate 5,000 people, according to officials. It is anticipated that the building will be the biggest auditorium in the Northeast. In addition to the main auditorium, the complex has a convention center, five VIP suites, multilevel parking that can accommodate about 450 cars, and cutting-edge digital and audio-visual equipment for holding major national and international events.

According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the auditorium complex will run on renewable energy thanks to solar panels mounted atop the building, in line with the state government’s sustainability objectives. Shah is also expected to congratulate almost 1,000 Congenital Heart Disease program beneficiaries at the location, according to officials. The opening of the Jyoti-Bishnu Antarjatik Kala Mandir is viewed as a huge boost to Guwahati’s expanding role as a regional center for important conferences, performances, and public events in the Northeast, as well as Assam’s cultural ecology.
