The shoot of television and films in Bengali entertainment industry were likely to start from today (June 10). However, a number of reasons have cast a shadow.
Yesterday evening, members of Suppliers Association, who provide lights and other equipment to various shooting floors objected to resume work from tomorrow. The members stressed on the fact that they were not included in the previous meetings held among the Tolly stakeholders. On the other hand, Artists Forum had sent a message to all its members yesterday informing that the prescribed guidelines couldn’t be unanimously signed by all the stakeholders. Under these circumstances, Forum can’t take the responsibility of the shoot or can’t guide. The entire day, the artists, technicians and others had confusion regarding the shoot.
On the other hand, their stakeholders are yet to come to a solution regarding payment of the prescribed health insurance of worth Rs 25 lakh which will be paid in case of any death due to COVID-19. Earlier, it was decided that TV channels will pay 50%, producers will bear 40% and the rest will be paid by the artiste. The measures like a health check-up before resuming shoot and other issues are yet to be resolved too. Under such circumstances, uncertainty loomed on tomorrow’s scheduled shoot, industry sources suggest.
