Ujaas collaborates with local NGO ‘Glad Bharat Foundation’ in Assam

Aditya Birla Education Trust has launched a campaign to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene in Assam. The initiative, guided by Founder Ms. Advaitesha Birla, aims to bring positive change and empowerment in the state. In collaboration with local NGO Glad Bharat Foundation, Ujaas has launched the first phase of its engagement, targeting adolescent girls and women.

 The campaign aims to drive awareness, dismantle taboos, and foster positive conversations about menstrual health and hygiene. The initiative has conducted age-appropriate awareness sessions and distributed sanitary napkins to local communities.

The ‘Ujaas Menstrual Health Express’ is a unique initiative in India, covering 25 states and 107 cities. The Menstrual Health Express Van, designed to navigate diverse regions and communities, will engage with local NGOs to learn about menstruation cultures and practices. The initiative aims to distribute over 250,000 menstrual pads nationwide, reflecting Ujaas’ commitment to addressing menstrual health challenges, empowering women, and creating positive community impacts. Speaking about the initiative, Ms. Advaitesha Birla, Founder of Ujaas emphasised, “In the state of Assam, we have reached out to schools, hostels, government run colleges and local communities driving awareness for menstrual health and hygiene through informative age appropriate awareness workshops delivered by trained professionals.
