TVS Raider adds segment-first traction control to 125cc motorcycle range

TVS Motor Company has introduced advanced safety features in the TVS Raider TFT DD and SXC DD variants, including a Traction Control System (TCS), which the company describes as a first in the 125cc motorcycle segment.

Announced in Bengaluru on October 15, the upgrade also includes Emergency Brake Warning, a wider rear tyre and a 27W USB Type-C fast charger. The traction control system is designed to help riders maintain control when the rear wheel loses grip on wet roads, loose gravel and uneven surfaces. Emergency Brake Warning alerts vehicles behind when the rider brakes suddenly.

The updated models retain the Raider’s 3-valve engine, iGO Assist with Boost Mode, Glide Through Technology and TFT connectivity offering more than 99 smart features. The company said the upgrades aim to improve everyday safety, stability and convenience.

The new Raider TFT DD is priced at ₹1,03,170, while the SXC DD costs ₹1,00,330, ex-showroom Delhi. Both variants will be available through authorised TVS Motor dealerships.

In Guwahati, the additional safety features could appeal to daily commuters navigating rain-affected roads, potholes and congested traffic. However, local demand will depend on dealership availability, on-road pricing and buyers’ willingness to pay for enhanced safety technology in the competitive 125cc motorcycle segment.
