Truecaller crosses 500 million users globally, India leads growth surge

Truecaller has announced it has crossed 500 million users worldwide, marking a major milestone in its effort to build safer and more trusted communication. The platform added over 50 million users in 2025 alone, highlighting rising global demand for protection against spam, scams, and unwanted calls. India continues to be the company’s largest market, with over 350 million users, while 150 million users are based outside the country. The platform has also crossed 4 million paying subscribers globally, strengthening its revenue stream.

“This is an important milestone for us,” said Rishit Jhunjhunwala, noting that the growing user base reflects increasing concerns over fraud and spam communication. He added that the company is now aiming to reach one billion users, with a focus on smarter technology and enhanced safety features. With more than half a billion monthly users, Truecaller has evolved beyond a caller identification app into a global digital utility platform, helping users verify identities, prevent fraud, and make informed communication decisions. Despite its scale, the company operates with a lean team of around 470 employees.

The surge in digital transactions and mobile usage has increased exposure to spam and fraud calls, making platforms like Truecaller increasingly relevant. Users in the city are actively relying on such applications to screen unknown calls and ensure safer communication.
