Truck & motorcycle collision took place on way to Shillong, 2 motorist died

Two Assamese youths were sadly killed in a vehicle accident in Meghalaya on Sunday. The duo was riding their motorcycle from Guwahati to Shillong when they collided with a vehicle heading in the same direction on National Highway 6 in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district. Nilutpal Dowari, 23, and Gargee Chutia, 21, were traveling on a Royal Enfield Himalayan. They were on their way to Shillong when Dowari, on the two-wheeler, attempted to overtake a truck while navigating a tight curve.

Unfortunately, Dowari lost control of his bike due to its high speed, causing a collision with the truck’s rear tire. Both the rider and his friend were hurled to the ground and killed instantly. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Nongpoh’s Civil Hospital Morgue for examination and post-mortem. The truck driver, Helmi Suting, was also taken to the Civil Hospital for medical assessment. The families of the dead have been notified and directed to contact the proper authorities for future action.
