Trinamool Congress Targets State Government, Indian National Congress at Pathsala Meeting; Announces New Joinings Ahead of Polls

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) intensified its criticism of the state government and the Congress party during a recent meeting at the Natya Mandir in Pathsala, which was strategically timed ahead of the upcoming elections. Assam TMC Vice President Dulu Ahmed highlighted that over 15 Congress leaders, having been denied party tickets, are resigning to join the TMC for the elections. The meeting saw participation from Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev, who laid out the party’s election strategy and facilitated a program for new members joining the TMC.

In addressing the media, Dulu Ahmed lamented the lack of progress in identifying the assailant of popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg. He criticized the Chief Minister’s dismissive attitude towards the concerns of the Assamese public, insinuating that any appeal for action would be ineffective. Ahmed also mentioned that TMC intends to run a candidate in the Bajali constituency, suggesting that Kalyani Kalita might be a potential choice.

Dulu Ahmed continued his onslaught against the Congress, specifically urging TMC party workers to challenge Rakibul Hussain, indicating the necessity of opposition within local politics. He criticized fellow party member Rekibuddin Ahmed and announced his intention to contest elections in the Chamaria constituency. Concurrently, Sushmita Dev expressed her dissatisfaction with the government’s neglect regarding the immersion of Zubeen Garg’s ashes in the Barak River, despite numerous requests made to the authorities. This meeting signifies TMC’s proactive stance as it gears up for the electoral battle, reinforcing its commitment to address regional grievances while positioning itself against the established political adversaries.
